365 Day Project- Day 56

Thought I would try some self portraits today.  I look like I woke up at 4AM this morning.  Oh wait...I did.

365 Day Project- Day 55

I went down to shoot bald eagles at Conowingo dam in Maryland today.  Unfortunately, the activity was on the mellow side.  There were a few fly-by's, but all in all, pretty quiet.

365 Day Project- Day 54

I am cheating here, but I have my reasons.  The great matriarch of the house, Ventana, passed away yesterday at the old age of 22.  She had been with us for quite some time.  We acquired her from a shelter literally hours before she was slated to be put to sleep.  That was around 10-12 years ago.  Until the end of her life, when health issues were plaguing her, she was a trouble free cat.  She was always great to have around and was never a troublemaker.  She will truly be missed.  The house is emptier without her.

This is a little rock sculpture than Nancy procured from somewhere.  Thought it would make for a nice subject.

Don't know why I felt the need to take a pic of my boot, but ....  Sometimes, I have no inspiration.

Still working on still life shots.  I have a feeling this will be my genre for some time as I am really fascinated by it.  I still suck, but at least I am having fun with it.

As promised, more still lifes.  I think these came out a little better.  I concentrated more on light direction and background with these.

I think still life is going to be my white whale.  Here's some shots I took.  I think they suck, but it is a skill I want to work on.

365 Day Project- Day 48

Tried my hand at still life yesterday.  I think if successfully taking really boring photos was my goal, then I succeeded.  I need to practice this more.

365 Day Project- Day 47

I can't get enough zoom blurs.  They take a boring photo and really adds some life to it.  We had an amazing sunset yesterday, but I couldn't really get a good shot with all the various things (houses, etc) in the way.  Enter in the zoom blur.  The houses and poles just seem to disappear and the color really takes center stage.

I like this one as it seems more abstract.

Here's the sunset with no blur.  I had to crop this one pretty heavily to get an interesting frame out of it.
